Joint research project EVEREST starts

The European joined research project EVEREST was officially kicked off today under the project coordination of the Austrian Institute of Technology (AIT).

EVEREST stands for "Energy-efficient VEhicle Range Enhancement through Smart Thermal design and user-centric solutions." Over the next three years, the project consortium - comprising vehicle manufacturers, Tier 1 suppliers, renowned research institutes, and SMEs—will work closely together to reduce the energy consumption of real vehicle demonstrators by at least 30%. This ambitious goal shall be achieved through innovative measures. Naturally, virtual prototypes - i.e., simulation models - play a key role in this effort.

Within this project, XRG will focus particularly on integrating zonal comfort models and on further development of the well-known XRG vehicle cabin models from the HumanComfort Library.

The project is kindly funded under EU grant agreement Horizon-CL5-2025-04-D5-05.
